I couldn't have asked for a more better roommate than Amanda. She has always been there for me, she has lifted me up on my worst days and made my good days even better by being in my life. I loved our Sundays with going to church (sometimes being disruptive!) and watching countless hours watching Gilmore Girls. I loved our Sobe addiction which became Sobe Sundays and then became a "one of those days" for Sobes :-)

I love you and thank you for being such a good friend to me! I miss you lots and wish I could see you!

Dear Emma!

Sorry I don't update my blog EVERYDAY for your enjoyment...Hopefully this will satisfy you for now. If not, deal with it. Don't cry.

Home Sweet Home!

I miss being home!!! I missed it so much that I left my apartment 2 days early :-) It was a hectic month for me! Finals, saying goodbye to friends, hospitals, having a special visit from my mom and packing...

My first year of college is over! For the most part I enjoyed it. I didn't like some of the drama and some of the other things that went on but besides that I loved it! I made alot of new friends, some I'm going to miss and others I am okay with not seeing again!

I am not entirely sure where I will be next year. Westminster? or CBC? It's been bothering me for so long! Anyways, the trip home was very cramped and long. Actually, it didn't take that long to get home this time, but it was very cramped! Who knew I had so much stuff! Thankfully my favorite roommate helped packed it all into the car! Love and miss her!

I loved being out on my own in Utah but at the same time I really missed my family. It's kinda hard living only 10 minutes away from all of my cousins and seeing them several times a month and sometimes a week to not seeing them for several months. I missed them and my aunts and uncles. I also missed my friends that were in Washington. Yes, most of them were in Utah at BYU but while they were there together I was in SLC by myself. It's partly my fault that I didn't want to make many new friends because I love the ones I already have. I want to be out on my own but I don't know if I want to be so far away from my family.

My very empty room...

Our living room.

and the pantry...oh boy!

Emma came for the ride...we got bored!

Most of the time she was sweet.

General Conference

I had the pleasure of having three tickets to watch General Conference in the Conference Center! It was soo amazing! When the MoTab started to sing I was amazed! i thought it was prerecorded! They sounded beautiful! It was a struggle getting there since there was construction going on at the same time. Why would the city schedule construction when 21,000 people are trying to get the the same place??? It was a mad house, we had the run in our dresses and heels and were drenched by the time we got there. When we got in it was so pretty though!

My best friend Larisa was one that I got to share my other tickets with! It was such a blessing to have my best friend come spend the night with me at my apartment and then get to experience this marvelous day with her! It's one I will never forget!

Some of my favorite speakers were Boyd K. Packard and Cheryl Esplin. And of course President Thomas S. Monson! I cried during some of the talks, laughed and felt the spirit all around us the whole time.

I missed the afternoon and priesthood sessions but I was able to go to my roommates house and watch general conference with her family on Sunday! That was such a blast. Amanda's little sister is such a crazy little kid! She was great!

pretty tree on campus!

After Conference. I was super hot!

Annie attacked Manda's fingers per my request! One thick coat of a different color for each finger :-)
There is a funny video with is playing with a balloon and a pad but it's not uploading :-(

Moving Out!

I was the one that decided that I wanted to move far far away from family to start my own life. I felt like I was restricted when I was home, always needed to ask my parents for permission but since I have been away at college I don't have the restriction. I wish I sometimes do though. I have found myself in trouble a few times this year and I know I wouldn't be in trouble if I still had my parent's restrictions.

I learned in my Lifespan development class that the years for adolescence and early adulthood are blurred. But what I noticed is that the "stages"act pretty similar. An adolescent wants to make their own decisions and to rebel against their parents. The beginning of early adulthood is finding who you are which in turn means making your own decisions and hoping for the best. Some decisions I have made are the best ones I could have made and make me happy....others though just make me feel pretty stupid.

I have 31 days left of my first year at college and I am going to miss it alot!!! I am not going to miss 2 roommates in particular but I wish I were still going to be living with Amanda, Lexi and Jana! I miss my family though. I was looking through my friend's pictures on facebook and she has one or two friends from high school with her in college. I have none. I have had to find my own place here and try to fit in. I am still working on that but hopefully I will sometime soon.

In the meantime, moving away was one of the worst and best decisions I have ever made. I miss my family and still need some guidance but I have also grown quite alot!

Overnighting!

I have the pleasure of being an overnight host for prospective students that think they would like to come to Westminster. I have been getting all the overnights, while I like it, it can be somewhat overwhelming. Tonight, as I blog, I have two overnights. Usually a host only gets one prospective student but this is the first time that I have had two. In my opinion, it is easier to have two because they can talk to each other instead of me feeling like I am doing all the talking :-) I have had girls all the way from Main to Seattle, California to Idaho, Colorado and even some from Utah. They come from all over and it is great. I love that I get to have the opportunity to be the deciding factor for these girls on their college choices. So far, I am 8 for 8!

Life at Westminster...

I'm a lucky one! I live in the middle of everything! If I look out my living room window to the left I see the Wasatch Mountains, if I look to the right I see Salt Lake City. It is so pretty here. The only thing missing is my wonderful family...
