When I was younger there was the "occasional" sibling rivalry-which in my house happened daily! I hated my brothers and my sisters but then there were times I loved them :)
When we are young we hate each other, are jealous of each other and can't stand each other. As I have grown up I have come to love each of my siblings-even though we occasionally do fight.
I didn't realize this until maybe this summer...or last. Recently. I got the hint that I loved my siblings with all my heart when my nephew was born. I remember walking around the hospital with my oldest brother-who because of me moved in with his biological dad just to get away. Over the next two weeks I lived with him I cared about him and our relationship/friendship grew.
That said brother came up this past weekend just to say goodbye to me before I head off to college. I truly do love him! He brought my nephew up for my graduation and texts/calls me to see how I am doing. My relationship with my little brother, Alex, has also grown. It's more of a "I'll do this for you because you do so much for me" kind of relationship. My relationship with my two little sisters is still growing. We fight the most but at the same time we get along the best.
All in all, I do think that when we were little there was some sibling rivalry but as we all have grown and matured it's become sibling love-with a hint of rivalry still in there :) I love my siblings!!!
